The day marked International Workers' Memorial Day.

Staff at Health & Social Care stood in support of their UK colleagues during the minute's silence.

Some can be seen holding their hands in a heart shape and all of them had to remain at least 2m apart in line with social distancing guidelines.

Guernsey's Emergency Ambulance Service staff also joined colleagues from HSC, UK ambulance services and the NHS to observe the silence to remember fellow healthcare workers who have died during the coronavirus pandemic.

Guernsey Police shared a photo on their social media pages of officers standing outside the headquarters, social distancing and paying their respects.

Guernsey currently has tested more than 3,000 islanders for the virus and found 2,755 negative results.

There has been 247 confirmed cases, with 191 recovered and only 12 awaiting results. 42 cases remain active.
