French pair fined for breaching isolation rules in Sark

TWO people from France who anchored off Sark and then went ashore have been fined £3,000 each for the Covid regulation breach in the Guernsey Magistrate's Court.

Sark authorities caught the individuals, aged 52 and 68, early and made them aware of the need to test and self-isolate, and they notified the Guernsey authorities.

The yacht then headed to St Peter Port harbour and the crew self-isolated on board until appearing in court.

Sark has the same Covid travel restrictions as the rest of the Bailiwick but has never had a Covid case.
