He started at the Bathing Pools at 5am for a sunrise swim, and with his mum Kerry, swam at all 30 bays before completing their final swim joined by friends and family at Amarreurs at 8pm.
‘It was really challenging but definitely lots of fun and we made a few stops at home during the day to eat and rest,’ said Jude, who is believed to have become the youngest person to swim all the bays in a single day.
‘We did at least 30 strokes at each beach, but some of them ended up being about 300 strokes.
‘My favourite swim was at Amarreurs because lots of my friends came down to join us.’
The pair decided not to complete the swims in a circuit around the island, but instead organised it so they would be at a beach when the tide height best suited it.
They swam on one of the hottest days of summer, and while the sea at most beaches was a similar temperature, others were noticeably warmer.
Ms Marley said that Jude wanted to do the challenge in one day after seeing other people do it.
‘I knew it was going to be an intense day and so I didn’t put any pressure on Jude, it was all up to him whether he completed it or not, and he did,’ she said.
‘The challenge is great because you visit and swim at different places you wouldn’t normally go to.’
She added that lots of consideration went into their route planning, as some of the beaches require walking along cliff paths and tackling lots of steps.
Jude also completed the standard 30 Bays in 30 Days challenge.
With his family coming up with the idea for 12 Bays of Christmas, Jude has raised money for Les Bourgs Hospice previously, and has seen the work of the charity.
From his day-long challenge alone, he raised £130 for the cause.
