The Emerald Princess, which has a capacity of up to 3,000 people, is set to arrive from Portland at about 7am tomorrow.

A States of Guernsey spokesman said that this would mean there would only be disabled and bike parking on the pier during the day.

'Parking is available in all of the other Town parking areas including the East Arm, which regularly has availability for spaces during cruise visits, North Beach, Crown Pier, Castle Pier, the South Esplanade and Salerie car park,' he said.

'While parking is not available at Albert Pier on the day, islanders are of course welcome to watch the display from the vantage points there; and good vantage points for the display can be found along all of the eastern seafront, from La Vallette to Delancey.'

More than 70,000 cruise ship visitors have come ashore this year and this will be the Emerald Princess's twelfth visit so far this year.

The air display will take place over the channel between Guernsey and Herm between 10.45am and 1.15pm tomorrow.

The line-up is set to include the RAF Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and The Blades.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is for sunny periods, but there will also be showers. These could heavy and thundery.

'It will be fairly breezy with the winds being a Force 5 and coming from the south-west,' a Guernsey Met Office representative said.

'Temperatures for the event will be in the high teens with the maximum temperature of 20C.

'The good news is, no fog is in the forecast, however, any showers that we do receive is likely to bring with it some lower cloud while they pass through, if we do indeed get any at all.'
