Once again, the campaign is being run by Bowel Cancer Guernsey to raise awareness of the disease and generate funds for its work.

Charity spokeswoman Anne Brouard said that while the event always brings people together for some fun, its impact could save lives.

‘It’s an event which spreads the message about understanding the risks, symptoms and early treatment of bowel cancer, and we are grateful to all who get involved,’ she said.

Workplaces, schools and the whole community are being encouraged to get involved.

Design and advertising agency Two Degrees North provides design and website support for Bowel Cancer Guernsey and will be getting involved.

‘We know from personal experience how much bowel cancer can affect the lives of those with the illness as well as the family and friends who are touched by it, and we hope that our contributions help to raise awareness,’ said creative director Chris Griffiths.

Participants are being encouraged to share their pictures on social media using #LoudTie2023.
