After months of problems, the airline announced in late May that it was reducing its services to quieter airports in a bid to provide a more reliable service.

At the time one ATR plane – G-ORAI – was in long-term maintenance in France, while the jet was operating limited hours. A leased Dash-8 was also out of action after overshooting the runway in April.

Since then G-ORAI has returned to service and a leased Saab has been helping to cover routes.

Aurigny chief commercial officer Sudeep Ghai said the airline was now planning to return the reduced routes – Liverpool, East Midlands, Birmingham and Exeter – back to normal service.

‘We are pleased that our route network is returning to normal service and thank our customers for their patience and understanding over the last few months,’ he said.

‘This is a positive step towards providing the reliable service that our customers expect and deserve.’

These two planes are being taken on for a long-term lease.

The jet – G-NSEY – has been in storage at Exeter airport since the end of May, as talks continue on selling the aircraft.

The restored schedule will mean there will be Exeter flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. East Midlands will have services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, while Liverpool will have services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
