James Giles was reported missing early on Tuesday morning.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Telford said, in a statement read outside outside Police HQ in St Peter Port, that 51-year-old James Giles, also known as ‘Jester’, had last been seen at his home address at 6.30pm on Monday 8 July and was reported missing to the police at 6.55am on Tuesday.

‘Since then, officers have conducted a number of searches across the island, carried out CCTV enquiries, and have spoken to a number of potential witnesses,’ he said.

‘Since he has been missing we have had no confirmed sighting of James, however we continue to search around his home address and at a number of other locations.’

He added that while the clothes he went missing in were unconfirmed, it is possible he left his home address in Rue de Bouverie, Castel, wearing a blue rain coat with the Sky TV logo on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 01481 222222.
