This year Grow has around 300 Nordmann firs, standing at 4ft, 5ft, 6ft and 7ft available to buy.

‘We’ve expanded this year as last year we ran out of trees,’ said Grow horticultural manager Stuart Smale.

As a result, it has added 100 more trees to its selection.

The Christmas trees have come from all over Europe, with many of them being grown in Ireland.

Many have already been pre-ordered and it is expected that most will go in in the first two weeks of December.

For every tree that is sold, Grow will get the full value.

With the sponsorship of Deloitte, Grow has been offering Christmas trees for the past four years.

‘All the money that is received by customers goes straight to Grow as we’ve funded the Christmas trees,’ said Jo Huxtable from Deloitte, organiser of charity partnership with Grow.

Condor Ferries has transported the trees from England free of charge.

‘We carry many consignments of plants for Grow throughout the year and are delighted to give them an extra boost at Christmas time by bringing in the trees at no cost to them,’ said Steve Champion-Smith, executive director, freight, at Condor Ferries.

These trees are priced at £10 per foot and are now on sale.

Grow offers a free tree delivery service and also a £10 after Christmas tree removal service.
