The former Medical Specialist Group partner was issued a warning due to his conduct with local patients between 2017 and 2018 at a tribunal hearing last week.

Among the issues proved was that he removed two women’s ovaries without consent, repeatedly failed to have a chaperone when with patients for intimate checks, touched patients inappropriately, and failed to organise appropriate medical follow-ups.

Dr Shokouh-Amiri continues to work at Southend University Hospital.

Care administrator Mollie-Jane Randall, who lives just north of Southend-on-Sea, set up the petition after claiming that friends and family who have upcoming appointments in the gynaecology department, including herself, were ‘petrified’.

‘Dr Ali Shokouh-Amiri, a gynaecologist here, has undeniably breached his professional conduct,' she wrote, saying she was 'shocked' he was deemed fit to practise.

She alleged that the doctor's actions had caused physical and emotional harm to his patients.

‘It’s time for us to unite against this abuse of power and demand justice for his victims.

‘He should be stripped of his medical licence and held accountable for his actions.

‘We need to stand up for the victims and ensure that our community remains a safe place for them to seek healthcare services.

'Let’s call on our local and national health officials to take immediate, corrective action.’

The petition had gathered more than 3,700 signatures in 24 hours, and the numbers continue to increase.

Dr Shokouh-Amiri worked at the MSG in Guernsey between 2016 and 2019.
