Developer Hillstone has submitted two planning applications, which would see three blocks created on the site, which has been cleared of structures.
The trio of three-bed houses would be built on the north-west of the site, while a mix of one and two-bed flats would be built in two blocks on the south west and east of the site.
‘We have previously gained planning approval for four dwellings within the site,’ said James Gavey from JG Architecture in the planning application.
‘Taking into consideration the previous proposals, surrounding area, and reviewing the scale and massing of existing buildings directly nearby, the idea to provide an increased density of units across the site not only meets the current criteria, but achieves this in a sympathetic manner through design.’
All the buildings would be of three storeys. Access to the site would be from Route du Picquerel.
The site falls within the boundary of the L’Islet local centre, so is in an area where new housing can be created.
