The family business has been run by married couple Andy and Kim Ashplant, who are retiring.
They opened the business in 2000 and are ready to spend more time with family.
Mrs Ashplant said their last weekend was looking ‘frightfully’ busy, with lots of orders already being placed.
‘It’s a big occasion for us,’ she said.
‘It has been such a huge, great big part of our life and it’s only as we’ve told people that we won’t be here any more that we realised how much it is a big part of so many people in Guernsey’s lives, too.’
Mrs Ashplant said the general response from the community was that they were ‘not allowed’ to retire.
‘People have been asking “where are we going to get the chips from, where will we get gluten free? You can’t retire!”,’ she said.
‘It was just a shock.
‘But we’ve been doing it 25 years and we’re ready to have a little bit of time for ourselves.’
