The airline had largely withdrawn from Guernsey operations since the pandemic, only operating a Jersey route and sharing the Southampton route with Aurigny.

However last year it ran direct flights to East Midlands, Norwich, Exeter and Newcastle.

Blue Islands CEO Rob Veron confirmed that following a successful launch year, a direct Guernsey to Newcastle service would operate again in 2026, but this time flying on Fridays and Mondays.

‘It’s been pleasing to see strong inbound demand – some 75% of customers originating in Newcastle,’ he said.

‘We’re looking forward welcoming more visitors to discover our beautiful islands next year.

'It’s exciting to continue to develop our regional network, strengthening connectivity with more choice and convenience for travel to and from the Channel Islands.’

Blue Islands also plans to run extra Norwich services next summer.

The airline's services are all available to book until October 2026.
