People already registered do not need to take any action to be able to vote again, but anyone wanting to join the roll must now do so before 25 April.
‘If you didn’t register on the roll for the General Election but want to register for the by-election, or you’ve become eligible, that’s absolutely fine and you just need to sign up, which takes only a couple of minutes. You can find the link on the by-election website,’ said Colette Falla, registrar-general of electors.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 10 April.
Election candidates will be asked to submit their nominations between 9am and 4.30pm between Monday 23 and Wednesday 25 March at the Royal Court.
The States has confirmed that a manifesto booklet will not be published, though manifestos will be published online at www.byelection2026.gg.
The Guernsey Press will publish supplied manifestos and ask candidates to provide written answers to questions in advance of the election.
The newspaper also intends to produce podcast interviews with all the candidates.
The States has also confirmed that alongside the main polling station at Beau Sejour, there will be additional polling stations at St Martin’s Parish Hall, Castel Douzaine Room and Vale Douzaine Room.
