Teenagers Alexander and Aiden Le Cheminant were both officials for Sunday afternoon’s U13 Boys' Muratti, in what might well be the first time two brothers have officiated on a Muratti.
Alexander, 16, was the referee and Aiden, 14, was one of his assistants.
‘It was really good and it made it so much easier because we know each other,’ said Alexander.
‘We kind of knew each other were there, which just made it all easier.’
Earlier in the day Alexander was also an assistant referee for the U15 Girls' Muratti.
‘It was great fun, there were so many people there especially for the girls one in the morning. The crowd was amazing, just making constant noise,’ he said.
Alexander has been refereeing for three-and-a-half years, while this season has been Aiden’s first.
‘It’s something that I have always wanted to do and it’s been quite a good thing to do,’ said Aiden.
Because of his brother’s interest in refereeing, Aiden decided to get involved too.
‘It’s a good job to be doing in between school and football,’ he said.
The pair got into football when they were about seven years old and both also play as goalkeepers for North.
