The UK’s LUXLife magazine recognised the local tour operator with two prestigious awards at its annual Travel and Tourism Awards.

It was named best personalised tour operator and winner of the guest experience excellence award. The Guernsey Literary Festival was also celebrated, winning the award for best annual cultural event.

‘We’re very proud to receive these awards,’ said Amanda Johns, accredited tour guide and owner of Tours of Guernsey.

‘As a small business, it’s really amazing. My job is so varied, I get to meet so many lovely people from all around the world and take them around this beautiful island.

‘To me, there can’t be a better job than what I do. We have to be re-accredited every three years, so we’re always learning, researching and attending courses to make sure we are developing. I try to put on a different tour each year, and offer guests new experiences.

‘I also volunteer with Festung Guernsey, who allow me private access to their world war two sites, which is a real unique selling point for my tours.

‘We like to immerse guests in the island’s heritage and beauty as much as possible, and offer personal service. These awards are a testament to our passion for sharing Guernsey’s story and to the continued support of our guests and partners.’

Miss Johns launched Tours of Guernsey in 2018. After a 30% increase in tours provided last year compared to 2024, she said that pre bookings for this season were looking very promising.

‘We remain committed to delivering high-quality authentic experiences that truly capture the spirit of Guernsey.’
