The local airline yesterday revealed its winter schedules until 27 March next year.

It said that the island would be the most connected of the Crown Dependencies over the winter, with one route per 4,642 people, compared to one per 8,076 in Jersey and one per 9,444 for the Isle of Man.

‘Our winter schedule reflects Aurigny’s unwavering commitment to keeping the Bailiwick connected with a comprehensive network that supports island life throughout the year,’ said chief commercial officer Philip Saunders.

‘While other Crown Dependencies often see far more significant reductions in flight frequencies and routes during the winter months, Aurigny continues to provide the stability and continuity islands depend on, with direct services to Paris, more frequencies to the Midlands and festive services to both Edinburgh and Dublin to support important family ties at Christmas.’

This year Aurigny will not operate scheduled services to Grenoble during the skiing season, but expects to enter a charter agreement for flights from the Channel Islands to Grenoble.

Guernsey to Paris Charles de Gaulle will continue as a point of connectivity to more than 290 onward destinations and the only direct service to the continent during the winter months. That service will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

The schedule also includes some winter services to Edinburgh and Dublin.

The local airline offers the most flight frequencies per week throughout the winter season from the Channel Islands to the Midlands, with flights from Guernsey to Birmingham operating five days per week, and with an offer for Jersey passengers to connect via Guernsey.
