For more than a decade now the company has backed the annual round-the-island charity walk and offered direct physical support from colleagues. The sponsorship covers all the costs of staging the event.
‘Their backing has allowed us to promise that 100% of what our walkers raise goes straight to good causes,’ said Simon Milsted, chairman of the organising committee.
The event is organised by Guernsey’s two Rotary clubs. Walkers can complete the full 39-mile coastal route or take part in shorter relay, family and solo formats.
Saffery Trust’s announcement followed the success of this year’s walk which saw record numbers, with more than 1,200 walkers taking part to raise more than £100,000.
‘Sponsoring the Saffery Rotary Walk is one of the things we are proudest of as a business,’ said Saffery Trust director Lisa Vizia.
‘The walk brings the whole island together for a single day each June, and the difference it makes to local charities is enormous.’
Next year’s walk is set to take place on Saturday 12 June. Registration will open in December.
