All funds raised by the annual event go directly to supporting the work of independent local mental health charity Guernsey Mind, which supports the mental wellbeing of people across the Bailiwick.

‘The 10k Challenge raises vital awareness of mental health. Exercise benefits not just our bodies, but our minds too. We hope this event inspires people to get moving with a clear goal in sight,’ said Guernsey Mind communications and events lead Amanda Hibbs.

This year, participants will set off at 9am from the Imperial Hotel and head north along the coast to the finish line at Grandes Rocques.

The event is open to beginner runners, and it is possible to walk the route if preferred. Under-16s are also welcome to participate, so long as they are accompanied by an adult. Runners will also be able to enter as a team of four for the first time.

‘This event appeals to all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re new to running or want to challenge yourself with a longer distance or a faster time, it’s a hugely rewarding experience,’ said Emily Dawson, head of private banking at Investec.

Investec is supporting the event again this year, with its staff also helping with the event’s organisation alongside members of Guernsey Athletics Club.
