The offer is for public service employees, those involved in frontline, manual and operational roles and Policy & Resources’ committee vice-president and resources lead Yvonne Burford said it meant that 99% of the public sector workforce had accepted the offer and only one group remained.
P&R was pleased that the staff, represented by Unite, had accepted, she said.
‘This set of negotiations has been more complicated than usual as there have been several factors unique to public sector employees.
‘Unite confirmed yesterday that the ballot had been accepted by their members, and as such steps are being taken to begin the implementation of this pay award in the next available pay run.
‘The committee is grateful to Unite and its PSE members for their contributions to what we believe was a productive and meaningful negotiation process.'
