The Nao Victoria, a recreation of the 16th-century vessel that completed the first circumnavigation of the globe, will be berthed in the harbour on select dates between Monday 7 and Sunday 20 September, with self-guided tours running from 10am to 8pm.
The visit is the ship’s first to Guernsey and forms part of a 2026 European tour taking in more than 30 ports.

‘Opportunities to host a vessel of such historical significance are rare, and her visit will provide islanders and visitors alike with a unique chance to experience a fascinating piece of maritime history.
‘As an island community with a strong connection to the sea, Guernsey has always valued its maritime heritage, and we are pleased to support initiatives that bring that heritage to life in an engaging and accessible way.’
The original Nao Victoria completed the world’s first circumnavigation between 1519 and 1522. Under the command of Juan Sebastian Elcano, and after three years at sea, a crew of just 18 men became the first to sail around the globe and reveal the true size of the Earth.
The replica was built in 1992 in Seville, the original vessel’s home port, and completed its own circumnavigation between 2004 and 2006, sailing 26,894 nautical miles and visiting 17 countries across five continents. It appeared at the Jersey Boat Show earlier this year.
Tickets are available online at online at www.fundacionnaovictoria.org and cost £8 for adults and £4 for children aged five to 10, with a family ticket for two adults and up to three children priced at £20. Under-fives go free.
