A large cordon was placed around the headland as police collected the car.
Police had submitted a request to the Ministry of Defence, and the Chinook was deployed yesterday to lift the vehicle in Alderney and then transport it to Guernsey.
The car was landed in Alderney first so it could be secured with a specialist ropes team from Avon & Somerset Police.
During a search and rescue operation on last Monday where the body of Hannah Benfield was discovered, the car was identified at the base of the cliffs at The Guns.
Her husband Simon Benfield has subsequently been charged with murder.
‘We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues in the MOD and A&S police for their assistance,’ said Guernsey Police.
Mrs Benfield’s family issued a statement on social media yesterday where they thanked people who had left floral tributes outside the family shop in the island.
‘The amount of love that has been shown for Hannah and to all of us has been completely overwhelming. At such an incredibly difficult time, the kindness of our island community has meant more than we could ever put into words.’
The family are moving the floral tributes to The Guns over the next few days, and rather than further flowers, they have asked for donations to be made to Channel Islands Air Search, St John Ambulance and the Alderney lifeboat.
