The fact that every single commercial fishing licence owner isn’t a member of an organisation that represents them to local politicians is completely insane.
The fact that every single recreational angler on Guernsey isn’t a member of an organisation that represents them to local politicians is also insane.
The fact that both such organisations don’t exist and aren’t working together to lobby local politicians is the single biggest reason our local wetfish stocks are ruined.
And we should all be members of the Guernsey Boat Owners Association and we should all be threatening to boycott our mooring fees until the current policy is reversed.
Trust me, nothing scares democratically elected politicians more than incitement to mass civil disobedience. It terrifies them. And so it should.
Marching is clearly pointless. Boycotts and blockades are what is needed to break their will.
