I would like to express my thanks for some excellent service that I have received on the evening of 13 October from Guernsey Water.
At approximately 16.40 I was working in our garden and I detected an unusual smell at the rear of our property.
Sewage, I thought, although not a property’s sewage point being emptied, as it seemed to emanate from the rear of our house.
Overflow, I thought...
I called the usual line on 229500 at 16.50 and received a most helpful and polite response from a member of staff.
I was told that our last collection was on 19 September (we are on a two-week cycle) however our collection due on 3 October had been omitted.
These things happen, I appreciate.
I was told that an emergency collection would be made within 3-4 hours.
An email of confirmation was received within minutes.
A driver appeared at 17.30 and the collection was made and once again I received excellent customer interaction.
It was our 30th wedding anniversary on the following day so we wanted everything to go smoothly in the ‘water’ department as we were receiving guests.
Thank you Guernsey Water. That was a great service.
