Guernsey out to complete hat-trick
GUERNSEY'S men head to Les Quennevais this weekend looking to make it a hat-trick of Islands Tournament victories.
The biennial event returns to Jersey for the first time since 2009 and will see men's and women's representative sides from Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man and Orkney competing.
Sarnian player-coach Andy Whalley has been putting his players through their paces since the start of the month in preparation for the tournament, which he expects to be of high quality once again.
'The inter-insular was a very tight affair this year and Jersey are playing at home this time so they will have all their players available and will undoubtedly be very strong while the Isle of Man were finalists two years ago, so we know there are not going to be any easy games,' he said.
'We have won the last two Islands Tournaments, so we are probably going in as favourites with that in mind, but any of the teams are capable of winning on their day.'
