Having taken the chequered flag once previously – at Knockhill – only to then lose the race with a post-event time penalty, a last-gasp move on the final lap of race two at Silverstone at the weekend earned him the winner's trophy and laurels.

An incredible conclusion to the race saw no fewer than five cars being split by less than four tenths of a second at the line, with Priaulx coming out on top despite starting the lap in fourth.

The dramatic conclusion came at the end of an action-packed encounter that featured no less than four different drivers trading the lead over the course of the 11 laps.

Priaulx initially grabbed the lead heading through Copse for the first time ahead of poleman Dave Wooder, but into the closing laps it was the latter ahead.

However, his defence was breached on the final tour by Brown, with an attempt to fight back leading to contact. That sent those two, and King, wide at Brooklands, with Priaulx squeezing his way past all three to take his maiden win from Wooder and King.

Earlier, Priaulx had made it two Ginetta Junior Championship pole positions in the last three qualifying sessions after stealing top spot at the death.

It was Seb Perez who initially stormed to the top by half a second, but next time around his stable-mate Priaulx improved by a further four tenths.
