The 17-year-old has excelled in his dozen games so far for the Green Lions after replacing his Bournemouth club-mate Callum Stanton, who injured his back in October.

And although there was initially some uncertainty as to how long GFC would be able to benefit from the link-up with the Premier League club, they have received a huge boost in recent days.

Yesterday, goalkeeping coach Chris Tardif – the man whose former connections with the south coast club have made this deal possible – said Dennis will remain for the season.

‘It is just a case of finalising all of the paperwork,’ he said.

‘Once that is done, Will will be loaned out to GFC for the season and as ever, we are incredibly grateful to Bournemouth for this continued support.'
