The Island all-rounder was in imperious form with the bat, hitting 15 fours and three sixes in an outstanding knock of 110 not out made from 68 deliveries, combining some classical stroke play with plenty of innovation, mainly his trademark reverse sweeps and pulls.

He was given good assistance by Damian Wallen, who made 42 in an opening stand of 105, and skipper Tom Kirk, who was unbeaten on 37, as Griffins compiled a massive 216 for 2 from their 20 overs.
Cobo, who were without Tim Ravenscroft, made a good start to their run chase with captain Josh Butler hitting 71 from just 36 balls, but it was always going to be a big ask and when he departed, his team’s hopes went with him as they finished on 177 for 9. Dane Mullen picked up four wickets.
