The Port Soif club will face new Jersey Combination Premiership side Madeira FC – who beat cup holders St Peter 2-1 to progress to the quarter-final.

‘We are looking forward to it. It will be a new challenge for us, we have never played Madeira before,’ said Rovers coach Kevin Gillease.

‘Not knowing how they play can be a good thing so we can go in and our focus be on getting what we do done, but they sound like they are a good team, they have just been promoted to the Premiership.

‘We need to give them respect, but not too much, and not rest on our laurels.’

North play Jersey’s reigning champions and last season’s Wheway Cup runners-up St Clement.

‘We are excited, I think it will be a good chance to test ourselves against a top Jersey team,’ said chocolate-and-blues coach Charlie Le Prevost.

‘We are looking froward to playing Jersey’s top teams, it is what the Wheway is all about, and we can just hope that our preparations pay off.’

Le Prevost said he felt confident with the strong squad he is taking over to St Clement.

‘It’s a very strong squad, we have had a late injury for Craig Young in our preparations, and Sam Cooley is still out injured, but other than that we have a full squad.’

There is only one FNB Priaulx League game today.

Vale Rec will be heading to St Andrew’s to face Rangers. Kick off is at 2pm.
