Guernsey FC got off to a flying start when Will Fazakerley put them ahead after only three minutes and only a brilliant triple-save from home keeper Elliot Dailly prevented them from extending their lead, but over the next half-an-hour Shoreham capitalised on an exposed GFC defence by scoring five. Marlon Campbell hit a terrific equaliser before Dylan Walter and Owen Waters netted a brace apiece.
GFC were still creating a lot of chances, though, and captain-for-the-night Charlton Gauvain pulled one back just before half-time and then they really got to work after the interval.
Jacob Fallaize reduced the arrears to two on the hour, Fin Du Port then converted a penalty after he had been brought down, and Sam Murray netted an equaliser with 25 minutes still remaining.
Shoreham briefly retook the lead via a route-one goal for Walter, but Gauvain replied almost immediately and then Murray slid home the winner.
The 13 goals make it Guernsey FC’s highest-scoring game, per GFC Stats, beating the previous record of 11.
The win moves the Green Lions up to fourth in the Southern Combination Premier, 12 points behind leaders Haywards Heath Town, who have played a game more but have a perfect record so far.
Guernsey return to Victoria Park on Saturday as attention turns to the FA Vase and a tie against Staplehurst Monarchs.
