The 15-year-old can now add national U18 champion, and open women’s semi-finalist, to a list of honours that included becoming LTA No 1 in the spring and representing Great Britain at the Junior World Cup in early autumn.

Her latest show of excellence came at the inaugural LTA Padel National Championships in Bristol.

Competing at the familiar and expansive Rocket Padel Bristol venue, she joined forces with Rosie Quirk once more to win the U18 title relatively unopposed.

After a bye to start, the Guernsey-Essex pairing beat Lucy Bertram and Tallulah Butterfield without dropping a game in the semi-finals, then made light work of Rosie Allen and Elizabeth Vellacott – winning 6-1, 6-0 – to secure the title.

In the senior women’s competition, they beat Alicia Hazzard and Connie Simpson 6-1, 6-3 then Laura Jackson and Eloise Tait 6-3, 6-1.

That got them through to the semis, where second seeds Lisa Phillips and Abigail Tordoff overcame them 6-3, 6-1.

The Guernsey starlet called it an ‘amazing weekend’ all considered.

‘Rosie and I have had an amazing year together, reaching the LTA No 1 ranking and playing for GB at the Junior Worlds, so to end 2025 as national champions is really special,’ she said.

‘It was also exciting to reach the semi-finals of the open event, where we had some chances against Abi and Lisa, especially in the first set, but in the end they were just too strong and experienced for us.’

Thanking the Guernsey Sports Commission and other supporters for allowing her to travel and compete, together with her family, she will conclude her year this weekend at the Rocket Padel Grade One Ilford. This will see her playing alongside British No 3 Tia Norton for the first time.

Her elder brother, Liam, joined fellow British Padel Academy performance player Oliver Hayday to place runners-up in the U18 boys’ equivalent.

They beat Shay Hanif and Ethan Holt 6-0, 6-1 in the quarters and then Harley Dixon and Billy Harding 6-2, 6-2 in the semis.

They pushed Cochise Bennett and Ben Phillips in the final but ultimately went down 7-6, 6-3.

A similarly strong start to the senior men’s doubles had them beating Max Brent and Oskar Pigan 6-1, 6-0, but they lost out in a tough round of 16 match against Elliot Selby and Mikel Suarez, losing 6-3, 7-6.

Bringing further Sarnian interest to both the U18 boys’ and senior men’s events was Cameron Gomes.

Alongside Stan Hunt, he beat Archie and Humphrey Morton 6-1, 6-0 but then also fell victim to Bennett and Phillips, who eliminated them 6-1, 3-6, 10-7 in a 1hr 14min. battle of a semi-final.

Even that paled to the 1hr 40min. duration of the marathon play-off for third that ensued, but they nevertheless locked in that position by beating Harley Dixon and Billy Harding 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

He instead partnered Cameron Dollimore in the senior men, where he knocked out Bennett and Sergey Yelnik 6-4, 6-4 and then came through a 1hr 46min. epic against a plucky Aston Deva-Nix and Josh Gilbert, taking it 6-0, 5-7, 7-5.

But Sam Jones and Nikhil Mohindra took them out in the quarter-finals, winning 6-2, 6-1.
