North head coach Charlie Le Prevost said he is looking forward to getting another outing as his side try to build up some momentum going into the new year.
‘It’s just nice to get another game played, to be honest, we have been struggling to get games on recently, but it’s a different competition so we are looking forward to it,’ he said.
North won the Guernsey FA Cup last season but Le Prevost said that there is no pressure on his side going into their defence campaign.
‘It would be good to retain it, but our aim is to win more trophies and there are other trophies we would like to win as well,’ he said.
There could be a return for Dave Rihoy this weekend, but North still have a number of absentees going into Christmas.
‘The squad is pretty similar to last weekend. I’m looking forward to the new year if I’m honest where we should have five or six players coming back in,’ said Le Prevost.
‘We’re still missing Ryan Lamb, Paris [Pereira], Auryn [Le Tissier], Sam Cooley and Kez Mahon as well as our long-term injuries.’
Tonorrow’s cup match comes off the back of North’s first Priaulx League defeat against St Martin’s last week.
‘It wasn’t amazing, Saints had a few players back who they don’t always have playing for them so I’m not going to read into it too much,’ said Le Prevost.
North’s Guernsey FA Cup game against Sylvans reserves kicks off at 3pm at the KGV 3G.
Sylvans first team are also due to be in FA Cup action tomorrow against Vale Rec at St Peter’s at 1pm for the weekend’s only all-Priaulx cup clash.
Rangers’ Division two side will host Rovers first team at St Andrew’s, also at 1pm.
