The game on Saturday 25 July at CoinShares Park, home of Jersey RFC, will mark the second outing for the combined island side, who beat Sweden in their inaugural ‘international’ fixture last May.

This next clash will see the Channel Islands face the team ranked 30th in the world, four places higher than the one they beat handsomely in a classic encounter at Footes Lane.

A bumper crowd turned out that night to see them win 66-28 in what was described as the ‘perfect combination of high-class entertaining rugby and terrific party atmosphere’.

The Channel Islands squad that day featured 13 Guernsey Raiders alongside 10 Jersey players, with Lewis Hillier from Guernsey and Evan Whitson from Jersey the co-captains and Raiders’ director of rugby Jordan Reynolds leading the coaching team.

As hosts, Jersey Rugby Club head coach Myles Landick is expected to head up the side this time, having just masterminded another promotion for his team.

Jersey were crowned Regional 1 South Central champions at the weekend to seal their return to the national leagues.

Raiders, meanwhile, sit eighth in National Two East with the two islands set to go head-to-head first as the Siam Cup returns to Guernsey on 16 May.
