That little bit of history came as the tourists beat the students by 145 runs at the College Field having posted 259 for 6 before bowling out their hosts for 115.

Meanwhile, this summer’s Women’s Continental Cricket Cup in Romania has been extended following the confirmation of the tournament line-up.

Guernsey will be one of eight nations taking part at the Moara Vlasiei Cricket Ground near Bucharest, with the competition running from 26-30 August.

The Sarnians have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Romania, Turkey and Czach Republic. The other group comprises Norway, Malta, Greece and Isle of Man.

The competition will begin with a round-robin group stage before progressing to the semi-finals and final.

The expanded tournament provides another valuable opportunity for Guernsey’s senior women to gain international experience, test themselves against a wide range of emerging European nations and continue building on the progress being made within the women’s game locally.
