Run wild

This is a fearless, straight-talking, sharp-shooting, truth-telling, glorious moon. Unfettered, no planets are getting in the way of this full moon tomorrow. It is completely unrestrained, wild and free, says Jolie Rose.

The Sagittarius full moon arrives like an arrow released from the bow. Once loosed, it cannot be called back. There is a feeling here of inevitability. Of truths finally surfacing. Of masks slipping. Of people reaching the end of their tolerance for half-lived lives, mixed messages and self-imposed cages. Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, philosophy, adventure and higher perspective. It asks us to climb the hill and look at the wider landscape rather than obsess over the tiny details at our feet.

This moon does not want us trapped in pettiness. It does not want us shrinking ourselves to fit into spaces we have long outgrown. It wants honesty. Raw, liberating honesty.

And yet, Sagittarius energy is not always gentle. It can be tactless. Blunt. Restless. There is a tendency under this moon to say exactly what we think and deal with the consequences later. Secrets may tumble out. Long-buried frustrations could erupt unexpectedly. People may suddenly realise they cannot continue pretending everything is fine when it absolutely is not.

The invitation here is not destruction for destruction’s sake. It is liberation.

What would happen if you stopped censoring yourself? What truth have you been circling around for months... perhaps years? Where in your life have you accepted limitation when your spirit is craving expansion?

This full moon carries a deeply nomadic energy. Sagittarius belongs to the pilgrim, the seeker, the traveller who understands that life itself is a sacred journey. There may be a sudden urge to book the ticket, quit the draining obligation, begin the creative project, speak the difficult truth or step beyond the invisible fence that has kept you small.

For many, this moon will illuminate the difference between security and stagnation. They are not the same thing.

There is also something beautifully spiritual about this lunation. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the Great Benefic – the planet of luck, wisdom and meaning. Even when things feel chaotic under this moon, there is a sense that life is trying to point us towards something larger. Towards growth. Towards authenticity. Towards a future that feels more aligned with who we are becoming rather than who we once were.

Expect heightened emotions around belief systems, politics, education, religion and morality. Sagittarius governs the stories we tell ourselves about the world. Under this full moon, those stories may be challenged. Some people will double down on their convictions. Others may experience profound revelations that alter their direction entirely.

Fire signs especially may feel this full moon intensely, but anyone with prominent mutable placements – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces – could experience major shifts in perspective over the coming days.

The body may also crave movement. Dance. Walking. Swimming in the sea. Bonfires. Laughter around kitchen tables at midnight. Sagittarius energy becomes stagnant when confined too tightly. This is not a moon for sitting silently under fluorescent lights pretending you are not aching for more.

It is a moon for remembering that you are alive.

For this full moon, I invite you to go on an adventure. Take yourself somewhere magical and sacred in nature to conduct this weekend’s moon ceremony. Really spoil yourself with it. Scatter rose petals to mark out a circle. Bring something to represent each of the elements. If you have a wand, take it with you to cast your circle, and if you don’t, then pick up a stick that takes your fancy and let that become your wand. Hey presto... you have a wand. Take it home afterwards, decorate it, and work with it from then on. Find out which tree it came from and begin building a relationship with it.

Once inside your circle, do whatever feels joyful and alive. Call in your favourite deities, ancestors, muses or heroes. Riff with them in your journal. Ask philosophical questions and write back the answers you imagine they would give. Let it become a conversation between worlds. Then feast with them. Dance, sing, make music beneath the moonlight. Let yourself be expansive, playful and free. Have a beautiful time.

Above all, this moon reminds us that freedom begins internally. Before we can change our circumstances, we must first tell ourselves the truth about them. Sagittarius does not fear the horizon because it understands that discovery only happens when we are willing to leave the familiar behind.

So open the windows. Speak the words. Follow the road. Trust the instinct. Go somewhere exciting and new and do something crazy and different when you get there…

Something in you is ready to run wild again.
