Now in its 11th year, the Pleinmont festival runs until Sunday – with the promise of bikes, beer and more than 50 musical acts on tap.

'This year the festival has really outdone itself,' said Mr Chadwick.

'We have brought in the best of Guernsey talent and attracted many performers and bands back from places like the UK.'

Last night (fri) saw Robert J Hunter headlining, with Electric Shakes, fronted by former Teaspoonriverneck/Thee Jenerators/Heave member Steve Lynch on the same bill.

Robert J Hunter was recently number one in the UK blues chart.

'What is so special about this event is that it is about supporting local musicians and giving people in Guernsey that unique music experience,' said Mr Chadwick.

'Having it up on the cliffs, looking out to the Les Hanois lighthouse is just amazing too.

'You couldn't ask for a more perfect summertime setting.'
