THE dream of an eight-year-old is fast becoming a reality as he is a third of the way through his mission to visit every RNLI station.

Harry Mascall, from Cheshire, was beaming with excitement when he travelled to Guernsey to meet the crew of the St Peter Port boat – the 72nd station he has visited out of 237.

He was given the chance to go aboard the Spirit of Guernsey.

He has also visited Alderney and Jersey.

The young aspiring boatman set off on the challenge last August, to raise money and awareness about the charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

'I wanted to do something for the lifeboats because they go out and save people's lives,' he said.
