HMS Guernsey bell is used in baptism
HMS GUERNSEY'S bell proved an unlikely font for the christening of a Sea Cadet.

More usually used to signal the hour on board a ship and to call sailors, the bell, which was presented to the then Bailiff Sir de Vic Carey when HMS Guernsey was decommissioned, was used to baptise 11-year-old Jacob Mauger, in keeping with an old naval tradition.
Chaplain Peter Derham had been preparing Jacob for confirmation and explained how members of the ship's company would use the ship's bell as a baptismal font.
