Resident Ross Le Brun is campaigning for safety improvements around Saumarez Park, and in particular a zebra crossing at the junction of Rue de la Perruque, Route de Cobo and Le Villocq Lane.
As part of that he emailed all members of the Committee for Environment & Infrastructure about whether they had used the junction during the working day, including vice-president and Castel representative Mark Dorey.
'You asked if any of us have used the crossing.
'Having lived in the area for 30 years I have crossed at the junction many times as it is more pleasant when going to Saumarez Park to walk along Rue des Cauvains, Rue de la Croix and Rue de la Perruque than La Neuve Rue and L'Aumone,' said Deputy Dorey.
'If I had a pram, I would cross using the zebra at L'Aumone.
'I have checked using Google Maps and the extra distance from the entrance of your clos using the zebra crossing at L'Aumone is just over 400m.'
Mr Le Brun has launched an online petition which currently has 54 supporters.
