It has faced recent criticism after stricter enforcement of what passengers could take on board, as well as the difficulty of finding luggage that fitted the required dimensions.

This all landed as the airline announced it would start charging for hold luggage.

From today, a customer’s main piece of hand luggage can measure 55x36x20cm – previously the length was 48cm – an allowance that brings it more in line with other carriers, but still slightly smaller than larger airlines such as easyJet.

Customers will also still be able to take on board a smaller piece of hand luggage, like a handbag or laptop case, measuring a maximum of 35x25x2cm, to put under the seat.

The allowance is for the Guernsey to UK services.
