Smokers are being targeted in a campaign to rid Town of cigarette butts.

In a joint project between Guernsey Police and St Peter Port parish constables, posters bearing the slogan ‘No Ifs or Butts’ will be distributed in the worst-affected areas.

Smokers seen lighting up in the street will be issued with pouches which it is hoped will encourage the appropriate disposal of cigarette butts.
