It will stand at Les Rue Vertes, the spot where the Guernsey regiment bravely held the German enemy at bay for three days during the First World War.

Details have also been confirmed for the commemoration and unveiling that will take place on Thursday 30 November.

The RGLI Charitable Trust is behind the fundraising that has made both this memorial possible, and the one installed in June in Guernsey’s Town Church.

The centenary appeal to raise £30,000 and maintain a lasting legacy was backed by the Guernsey Press’s Guernsey’s Finest Hour campaign.
