St Sampson’s could have a French twin

ST SAMPSON’S could be twinned with a French village in Normandy, after its douzaine gave the go-ahead for the idea to be investigated.

Bricquebec-en-Cotentin, a village directly east of the island, approached the douzaine about the potential of twinning.

Constable Paul Le Pelley will begin talks with their officials.

If pursued, it could see the two parties form a close relationship and hold a number of different exchanges. However, the idea is still only in its very early stages.

This was announced at the parish meeting, during which a new constable and douzeniers were also elected.
