Diggers move in for L’Ancresse beach armour work

WORK will take place over three weeks to install protective boulder armour on the L’Ancresse sea wall.

Preparations were under way yesterday with machinery being moved in for the £100,000 project.

The pile installation for a temporary platform east of the kiosk is due to start today and be completed by Thursday with warnings that this work will be noisy.

The platform will be used to base plant vehicles which will on to lift 400 tonnes of boulders over the wall and place them onto the beach.

Other vehicles will be stationed on the beach to arrange the stones,Stone delivery of which will begin on Friday.
