Free job ad offer from the Guernsey Press
THE Guernsey Press is offering free recruitment adverts through July to companies to help match islanders with jobs as the community works together to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Unemployment has risen as a result of the pandemic and lockdown to control its spread, but there are still companies looking for talented workers.
It is against this backdrop and in the spirit of Guernsey Together that the Guernsey Press is offering select free recruitment adverts to run both in the paper and online.
A Guernsey Chamber of Commerce spokesman welcomed the initiative.
‘Guernsey Chamber welcomes moves by the Guernsey Press to assist people in our community to find work and for businesses to be fully staffed so that they can operate to the best of their ability,’ he said.
‘Our economy is, in reality, all about our people and bringing together those seeking work, particularly in these challenging times, with those who need extra resource, is a tangible way to work together to help Guernsey to thrive.
‘We know that many individuals have been affected by the downturn and that impact is likely to be felt for some considerable time. An initiative such as this is hugely important right now.’
Mark Lewis, managing director of the Guernsey Press, said: ‘The island is full of fantastic people and incredible businesses. With the difficulties faced by the community as a result of Covid-19, we wanted to do something to help with the tools at our disposal. We hope that the offer of these free recruitment adverts will match islanders with available jobs.’
