Jersey on Guernsey’s travel watchlist as it tightens its own isolation requirements
JERSEY has been added to Guernsey’s Group B travel watchlist.
Places on the list could be added to Group A at short notice.
Arrivals from Group B countries can quarantine for seven days and then have a Covid-19 test, but Group A arrivals must quarantine for 14 days.
As of 5.45pm yesterday, Jersey had 41 known active cases, and 347 known direct contacts.
The island’s States voted yesterday voted to tighten the isolation requirements for travellers.
There have been 17 cases through Jersey’s borders since Friday.
From Tuesday, people travelling there from a ‘green’ area will have to self-isolate until they receive their first negative test result.
Jersey classes regions on a traffic light system with different restrictions.
Currently those coming from a ‘green’ area can be tested on arrival and then on day five, but do not have to isolate while awaiting the test result.
The island hopes to be turning around tests within 12 hours when the new rule is brought in.
