Randalls has purchased the pub in Hauteville, St Peter Port, from Michelle and Steve Taylor. In a first for the company, it will be run as a joint venture between Randalls and The Corner Group, which operates the nearby Cornerstone gastropub.
Matt Polli, managing director of Randalls, expressed delight at adding the Cock and Bull to its estate and paid tribute to its departing founding couple.
‘Steve and Michelle have created one of the island’s best loved pubs from scratch and we’re incredibly proud to be entrusted with its future,’ he said.
‘The acquisition of the pub fits perfectly our long-term strategy and cements our working relationship with The Corner Group.’
The couple thanked their customers and employees over the years for their loyalty and patronage.
‘We have incredibly fond memories of the Cock and Bull and its customers and look forward to the next chapter of our lives as we move on from the hospitality industry,’ they said.
