The business, which has operated on Forest Road since 2000, was placed into administration last month, with administrators Begbies Traynor having enabled trade to continued until this week.

However, on Monday the administrators were discharged from their duties and appointed as liquidators of both CIC Ltd and Channel Island Ceramics at a court hearing.

A closing down sale is currently being held on-site, with at least 30% off all stock.

Staff working at the store did not wish to comment on the situation when the Guernsey Press visited the premises yesterday.

The business is only advertising opening times online until the end of today.

In a statement, Begbies Traynor said that, in line with the primary objective to sell Channel Island Ceramics, the business was marketed.

However, they said that despite numerous expressions of interest from potential buyers, no serious offers were received.
