A crowd of more than 1,000 people is expected for the all-ticket fixture, with new grandstands sold out weeks ago.
But there will be next to no traffic access down the road, with fans being urged to walk or cycle to the ground, or get a bus to the junction with Les Banques for the 2pm opening, or the official opening of the venue at 12.15pm by the Lt-Governor.
The road will be closed to all traffic from 11am to 4.30pm for this opening day, apart from Blue Badge holders and those with passes.
The Anytime Fitness gym and Rock Health fitness centre remain open and they have told members that they should be allowed through the security presence at the top of the road.
Victoria Park said that traffic arrangements might change in the future and were still being assessed on a match-by-match basis.
‘We are working closely with the States to identify long and short-term solutions that will facilitate access to the stadium during match days – and we’ll keep you posted,’ it said on social media.
