Guernsey Air Display - Wednesday 10 September, 6.30-8pm
Taking place from 6.30pm-8pm, this year’s event is breaking away from its traditional daytime slot to be more accessible to all age groups.
The ever-popular Red Arrows will be returning for the event, while the Typhoon display aircraft will be making an unexpected appearance.
Also featuring will be a Hurricane, the aerobatic Pitts Biplane, and the Airborne Pyrotechnics team.
To mark the new evening timeslot, a food village will open at the end of Crown Pier with local caterers The Guernsey Catering Company, Iwaris, Amchi Bus, Baan Thai, Ben’s Bar and Little Big Brew.
Seating will be available on Crown Pier to watch the aircraft over St Peter Port.
The Typhoon PR trailer and RAF Recruitment Team will also be located at the end of the Crown Pier, where spectators can find out more about the role of the Typhoon and career opportunities within the RAF.
The end of Crown Pier will be closed to the public from 6pm on Tuesday, but the main car park will still be open for parking.
Boat owners in the QEII marina and harbour are being asked to familiarise themselves with the restricted zone in place for the display to ensure they have cleared the area by 6.25pm.
Drone operators are again reminded that the display will have to be stopped if drones are flown anywhere in the Bailiwick while it is taking place.
Event organiser Natalie Davidson thanked everyone who made the display possible, said the organising team was ‘really excited’ for the whole community to make the most of the food and entertainment on offer as they came together to enjoy the spectacle.
‘The Air Display relies almost entirely on private funding from the generous support of local businesses, who form a consortium, and corporate and individual Friends of the Guernsey Air Display, alongside a grant and underwriting from the States,’ she said. ‘We hope everyone has a great evening.’
