The Rock the Frock 2025 Wedding Dress Charity Ball will take place on Saturday 18 October at the Farmhouse Hotel, with proceeds going to the Guernsey branch of Cancer Research UK. Tickets are priced at £75 and include a three-course meal, live music from local band Underdog and a raffle.
Organisers Maxine Le Normand and Claire Tannahill began hosting themed charity nights in 2015 after joking about never getting to wear their wedding dresses again.
‘We all got married around the same time and thought why not wear them again and raise money while we’re at it?’ said Mrs Tannahill.
Since then, their events have grown in popularity, with past highlights including surprise performances from visiting choirs and even male members of the band wearing bridal gowns. This year’s ball returns to its original wedding theme to mark the 10th anniversary.
Guests are encouraged to wear their wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns, or any glamorous outfit.
‘It’s not just about the dress, it’s about having fun and supporting a cause that touches so many lives,’ said Mrs Le Normand.
In addition to ticket sales, the group is accepting donations and raffle prizes. Local artists Peter and Linda Le Vasseur have contributed a piece of artwork and accompanying book for auction, with bids accepted via email before and during the event.
Organisers hope to raise as much as possible for Cancer Research UK and are urging the community to spread the word.
‘Even if you can’t attend, you can still help by donating, bidding or simply telling a friend,’ Mrs Le Normand said.
